USRowing Announces Para Development Camp Invitees

USRowing is pleased to announce the 8 athletes who have been invited to the 2024 Paralympic Development Camp this summer. The camp will focus on developing young athletes with Paralympic eligibility in the Pathways system. At the conclusion of the camp, athletes will compete at the 2024 Royal Canadian Henley. Paralympic alternates, Dani Hansen and Max Allemeier will also be competing at the regatta in the PR3 mixed double sculls.

“This is a large step in the ongoing process of creating a strong path for Para athletes in USRowing, especially in the fixed seat categories,” said Ellen Minzner, USRowing Director of Para High Performance. “Development camp will be the first opportunity for many of these athletes to be coached and trained together in a pre-competition camp, and will be an opportunity to learn what to expect at national team selection level events in the future.”

Athletes were invited by a competitive application process, and the 2024 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta served as a qualifier. Athletes who earned their invite by winning the Dad Vail in their respective category include John Doughty, PR3 Inclusion 2x, and Frank Ganther, PR1 M1x, who also was named the winner of the Blackwall-Duling Challenge, sponsored by the Philly Gold Cup.
