Personal
John is a father and husband. He enjoys real estate development, tennis, baseball, and coaching. He is a father to his beautiful daughter, Hazel. John is a full-time professor in real estate development at Tulane University. He is the president of New Orleans Rowing Club. John is a self-taught sculler after years of coaching in traditional sweep programs. He found the sport as a walk-on at Tulane University. He attended the Club Sports Expo looking for the rowing team, only to be mobbed by several rowers looking to recruit him for his height and build ... the rest was history. He lists his wife, Hannah Huppi, as his hero. Not only is she a great partner (on and off the water), but she is a loving mother, business entrepreneur, and now national team rower. Seeing her balance everything is inspirational. He earned a masters degree in sustainable real estate development in 2014.
