Sierra won the Thomas Hansen Conference award and was named an All-American in 2020 and 2021. She is attending Oxford Brookes University to row with the team and is working towards another masters degree in Education. Sierra enjoys Frisbee golf, paddle boarding, watching sunsets and sewing. Sierra competed in soccer, swimming, track, and dance in high school. She's always loved sports and wanted to be a part of something that set her apart in college. When she found rowing at Oregon State, she saw an opportunity to grow as an athlete. "Kerry Simmons, 2016 Olympic gold medalist and the OSU novice coach, was such a cool example to follow. Walking-on freshman year, it was really fun to learn a new sport and meet a whole group of people driven to compete at a really high level." Her head coach at OSU, Kate Maxim, took a chance on her and continuously encouraged her to pursue more competitive rowing opportunities.
