Personal
Jeni enjoys cycling, skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking, baking, cooking, and reading. She was a swimmer in high school and early college and had always wanted to row, but she was in locations without access to rowing. When she went to grad school at Princeton, she started rowing with a masters program and quickly jumped into sculling upon guidance and coaching from Molly Hamrick. Molly later introduced her to Marc Oria, who pulled her into the coastal side of the sport in 2022. She currently works full time in consulting doing sustainability strategy and looks forward to devoting her full attention to her career to make an impact on the world when she chooses to leave competitive rowing. Her favorite place to travel, so far, are the Dolomites in Italy. She grew up on a ranch in Montana, which involved fixing fences, throwing hay every summer, and digging ditches. She selected Boston as her office location post-Ph.D., specifically to move to a city with a large rowing community. Jeni lists her mom as her personal hero because she is the strongest, most empathetic, most creative, and most resilient person she knows. Jeni received an Astronaut Scholarship and a Goldwater Scholarship, both for academic excellence and research accomplishments.
