Charles was the 2020 Indianapolis Rowing Oarsman of the Year, 2021 Indianapolis Rowing Most Improved Oarsman, and 2022 Indianapolis Rowing Oarsmen of the Year. He enjoys riding bikes, driving around with friends, and lifting. He travels with an espresso machine to every regatta. Charles biggest supporters are his mom, dad, brother, sister, and two dogs, Ripley and Cooper. Charles said Tristan Wakefield is his personal hero because he got Charles into single sculling and inspires him with his work ethic and achievements.
