Personal
Emily enjoys DIY projects, playing ball sports (especially soccer and ultimate frisbee), traveling, learning new skills and languages, and pulling silly pranks. She can frequently be found pulling (harmless) pranks or wearing a big smile. Emily loves hands-on projects, learning new skills, has a passion for loving people, and is the most extroverted introvert around. Although she bleeds burnt orange from her collegiate team, the Texas Longhorns, Emily is always the first to bring the team together to chant USA on three. She walked-on to Purdue University's club rowing team as a freshman in college. She lists her personal hero as Remy from the movie Ratatouille because he was the most unlikely of little chef's but believed in himself when others didn't and ended up saving the restaurant and Linguine's career. After rowing, she would like to work in engineering and/or live abroad. Her favorite place to compete is on her home turf in Indianapolis, IndHer favorite places to travel are Asia and the Middle East. Her favorite books are Holier than Thou by Jackie Hill Perry and The Book of John in the Bible. Emily says, God is greater than the highs and the lows. Emily is a three-time All-American, four-time Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll recipient, four-time University of Texas Athletic Directors Honor Roll member, 2018 Big 12 Rower of the Year, 2015 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, and is one of three athletes to be four-time selection to the All-Big 12 Team.
