Personal
Teal was a 2022 CRCA First-Team All-American, a 2021 CRCA Second-Team All-American, and a 2020 CRCA All-American nominee (no selection due to COVID.) She enjoys reading, cooking, spending time outside, and traveling. She started rowing in 2013 at The Hockaday School under Tim McAllister. She lists her mom, Kim Elting, as one of her personal heroes for constantly supporting and inspiring Teal to be the best athlete she can be, and her grandfather, James Elting, for the legacy he left in the sport and for igniting a spark in Teal to try rowing years ago. Teal is the daughter of Kim Elting and Stewart Cohen, and she has one sister, Reid.
