Gemma won the 2024 USRowing Para Female Athlete of the Year. Gemma earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2023. She was named Temple Womens Rowings Athlete of the Year in 2023 and Newcomer of the Year in 2022. She earned second-team All-AAC honors in 2022. She enjoys eating food and trying new places, traveling, being outside, and being around family and friends. Gemma has never had coffee before. She tried almost every other sport, but rowing is the one that stuck. Gemma said her personal heroes are her family because they remind her of who she is and support her in everything that she does. After rowing, Gemma would like to travel and explore the world. Her favorite place to travel is South Africa because her family is from there. She is a big 2000s sing-along music fan.
