Coxswain Course: Athlete Edition

This course teaches coxswains how to communicate with their crew in the most efficient and direct way. The course targets developing coxswains within their first 1-3 years of training and is entirely self-paced and lives online in USRowing’s learning management system. This course will give coxswains a solid foundation of how to manage practice, fix technical problems, execute a race plan, and how to motivate a team. Before coming to this course, coxswains should already have participated in a few practices and have the basic commands down for coxing. Coxswains should already know how to safely take a boat in and out of their boathouse and how to navigate their waterway and have attempted to dock.
